I used FilmFix to transfer some 8mm home movies ranging in age from 25 years old to better than 60 years old. The quality of the final product was better than I expected. I talked to Nathaniel and Laura on several occasions to discuss the best processing options to choose and the best way to burn the final DVD and Blu-ray discs. They were always prompt in returning my calls and courteous and knowledgeable on the subjects being discussed, and I now feel that I made the right decisions with their help. I put them in something of a time crunch since I wanted my transfer completed before Christmas so I could give the DVDs and Blu-rays as a Christmas present - and they came through. They actually finished a few days earlier than their estimated completion date. All the while, I was able to get updates on the status of my transfer.
I would recommend using FilmFix if you have old movies that you would like to preserve. There is nothing easier than popping in a DVD (or Blu-ray) and not having to set up a projector and screen. And no more worries about the film disintegrating over time.
