WOW Laura and Nathaniel - What you were able to get out of those skinny 8mm strips is amazing. And not just exposure and color corrections, but the image stability. I'm sure that even the first time they were projected back in the 1960's and 70's they didn't look this good.
My wife has already sent some teaser frame grabs out and then tasked me on the Nikon slide scanner and Epson flatbed to scan in a bunch of stills. Seeing her grandparents 30 years younger than her most recent memories, and seeing her mom as a young woman brought tears to her eyes.
We have some other footage somewhere that was done by another company and it wasn't nearly as good. When I find it, I'll send it to you.
